It was built during the second part of 19th century and it finished in 1883.
John August Roebling was the first designed to construct the bridge. He had an injury to his foot and he death for a tetanus infection.
His son, Washington Roebling, continued the project but, also suffered a paralyzing injury. After that, her wife, Emily Warren Roebling supervised the bridge bellow her husband's guidance. She was the first person who cross the bridge.
The Brooklyn Bridge was for many years the longest suspension bridge in the world.
It connects New York City Borough of Manhattan and Brooklyn and it an important symbol of the city.

I like very much this history of personal superation because always will be present that who has a true wish, almost of many difficulties that he/she could find, if he/she will arrive to the objective, before or later, he/she will get.

The photos of New York are really beautiful. It's one of my dream visit the Big Apple. Only need the permission of my doctor and, at the moment, I haven't it. I'll try to get my dream!!!

After watching ths video, and listen to all the commentaries, I think that great dreams, like Brooklyn Bridge, are achieved only with great effort.
Thanks to the genious Jhon A. Roebling, who looked at the stretch of water and had an idea for a bridge. Many years later his dream became in "such an outstanding action of engineering"
But over all I am impressed with the great human cost, working in such bad conditions, I read workers were immigrants.
Thanks to the development of technology, but thanks to de social development, because it was the time when women are really beggining to play an important role in every public claim, both in the work place and politics.
Luckly working and women conditions have improved nowadays, but I think we can still do it better.

Thank you for this video.
