Do footballers get paid too much?

What do you think? Do footballers get ridiculously high wages? Are footballers current heroes in our society? Do they deserve to be paid that much?

Or do you think that they are to be compensated for body injuries? Are they worth because of their short careers? Do they contribute to the economy of countries? How?

Let us know what you think.

Are you one of those people who are worried about footballers’ salaries?
First at all, I think it’s the typical question to distract people –like football itself. Don’t worry about how much money they earn because most of this money comes from private companies. Remember it: all football clubs are Public Limited Companies (in Spain, S.A.), and advertising firms, television channels and footballers themselves too. Then we can´t decide what they have to do with theirs money. They spend it on profitable things, like all millionaires of the world.
Apart from, there are other sportsmen who earn some big salaries, like Formula 1 drivers, tennis players, golfers, boxers, basketballers and so on. And what about some singers, actors, painters and others like them?
These days there are several “unproductive jobs” which produce big profits, but the allocation of the profit isn’t a subject of popular decision –you should read “Capital”, where it was already well explained in 1867.
To conclude, personally I believe that the biggest problems about football’s economy are, firstly, that the football clubs –Real Madrid and Barcelona included- don’t pay for Social Security of theirs millionaire contracts, and, secondly, I don’t know whether there are still Spanish sportsmen (or famous sportswomen) who “live” in Monaco, because those amounts could be enough to make a lot of public investments.
In the end, the most interesting discussion should be about the correct use and allocation of public money. There are too many people who are becoming millionaires with it. That’s really a problem!

In my opinion the footballers aren't heroes. I think heroes are those work to society unselfishly like scientist (M.E. Patarroyo) or NGO.
However the footballers deserve his salary because they are elite sportsman and the Clubs pay a lot of money for them because they generate publicity and they earn really enormous amounts of money.
Finally, I will prefer the footballers earn less money and the Clubs donate part of that money to education, medicine… It's a dream!

I don't agree with the wage of footballers especially with the first teams.
One thing to consider is that they get the money for the publicity and for the private channels of tv.
Currentely footballers are being wacthed as heroes in the society for the children, they want to wear the same clothes, shoes, and they look like as their.
On the other hand , they have short carees and they deserve to be paid more money than other people who can work longer than them.
To conclude, the enormous amounts of money who earn clubs and footballers , part of it, had to spend to social action and to promote more deports among the younger.

I think that footballers are overpaid. In my opinion, they don’t deserve to be paid so much. I think they should have a medium wage, but not an extremely high one. The thing is that I don’t think their job is the most important or the most difficult to be done. They aren't heroes, althoug they make some people happy with their work.
I am aware of their short career, but there are other jobs (such as miner, bricklayer, or other sports players) that don’t have that wages although the careers are short as well.
It’s true that football clubs are companies, and they invest their money in football players the same as other companies invest their money in banks, for example. The members of the football club are the people that pay for the club needs; so, if they wouldn’t like the footballers to get so high wages, they should leave the club.
Although there are extremely high wages, the club has also got benefits, because people pay so much money to watch a football match. So, in conclusion, I think football players’ wages are as high as members of the club and football fans let.
Anyway, not every football player gets so much wage: overpaid footballers are only the most famous ones and the best ones.

In Spain the footballers are one of the minorities in our society that earn millinaires wages. I am writing about the reasons for this act.
Currently football is one of the main issues in our society although is very difficult nowadays to mobilize the people for something , football is able to get it so the whole country is stopped when an important match happens.
Foot players are being considered as heroes because they are rich and they get all women that they want.
So in my opinion the question isn`t “How much money earn a footballer?” but “how is possible that one sport get mobilize this huge of money and manage our minds so easily?”
