Random acts of kindness

Schoolchildren took part in an experiment to see what effects being kind would have in the classroom
How do you feel when someone does something nice for you, like sharing their food or giving you a cuddle? Does it feel better if you're the person performing the kind act?

Schoolchildren
Listen to this week's 6 Minute English, Jen and Callum talk about an experiment in America which asked children to carry out three random acts of kindness every week to see what effect it would have on their lives.

This week's question: What is the most commonly broken New Year's resolution?
  1. stopping smoking
  2. losing weight and getting fit
  3. travelling
Check up vocabulary as well!

Hi!
We listened the radio program. It´s very typical that the people think some resolutions. It´s not our case because we know that we don´t keep it.
About the experiment in America, is very interesting. We don´t understand all because is a bit complicated for us jeje. We agree about this ideas: when de schoolchildren does something nice like sharing their food o give a cuddle, they will be less stress person, more friendly, better person to solve problems and they´ll carry out altruistic actions. We think our society is shortage about kind actions.
Finally, about what is the most commonly broken New Year´s resolution, we undertand:
a)Stopping smoking 50%
b)Losing weight and getting fit 60%
But we´re not really sure.
It´s all.

Hi Patricia and Manuel,

If you listen through the document, at the end, you'll find out they say that the most broken New Year's Resolution is stopping smoking.
