In Want of Jobs, Protesters take over the Streets

Dear NI1,

I thought you may find it interesting reading about what the New York Times says about Spain today.

Look at the Slide Show and, if you wish, read the article (difficult): An Awakening that keeps them Up All Night about young people in Spain these days.

And how about you? Have you participated in the movement? How? Do you sympathise with them? Why? Why not? Is there any slogan that you liked?

I've just clicked on "An Awakening ..." and I've discovered a sympathetic speech towards the concentrated young people, that seem to sing the lullaby song "5 cubs had mum wolf..."

At the time, into the same page, a picture shows us "The history of Cirque du Soleil".

The composition is a terrific symptom: history versus story.

It's a flash!

I haven't participated but I was in Puerta de Sol square two weekends ago, I saw people, slogans and even signed some proposals, and, in my opinion, of course they are right.
There was a lot of serious and funny slogans like these "Spain is different, not indifferent" or "Updating system: Step 1: deleting virus: banks", however I would like to propose this: "Don´t be afraid, change your vote right now.!"

I haven't participated in the movement. I'm sympathise with them, because I think the things that they ask are necessary, for example we don't need "senado", the wages are to high and they work only four years and their retire is for all their life,I would like to vote only for people not for all people who are in the same list..
I think this movement is a shame to make aware of this issue ( goverments).

I just came from a few days of rest and curiously I had read this news in the digital edition in english of EL PAIS.
I agree with this article about that the spaniards seem that have woken up and that this apathetic generation has changed. Now the people don´t speak only about sports, fashion, concert, etc., now people talk about policy as well.
Surely living in the country with the most unemployment rate among young people of European community nearby 50 % (a lot of them with an university degree) while large spanish multinational earn most money a year by a year.
Meanwhile our government let EREs every day and spanish banks achieve profits even greater than other countries of Europe.
All these things are the reasons from what the people has exploded and has launched onto the street to ask a change, now.
Have a nice summer.
