Kings day

Every year my family comes to my house on the 6th of January to have lunch.
It´s already a tradition. As we´re a big family, every celebration takes place in a different house.
We´re 23 people if everybody comes. My mother, my brothers and sisters, my nephews and nieces, my sisters and brother in law, my sons and my husband are happy and relaxed because this is gifts day and people has nothing to do, or cook, or buy so the party lasts until midnight.
We spend all day playing with the gifts, talking, eating and drinking so Critmas Time ends for us.

INTERNACIONAL GAY PRIDE.

This day is on June 28th around the world. It's a day for us to remember the Stonewall riots. These riots happened in Stonewall, a popular place in one popular neighborhood in New York, in 1969.
In Madrid we usually celebrate this day the weekend of this week.
In the evening we go to the massive march and after there is a big party around the center of Madrid. Probably this festival is the most popular festival in Madrid at this moment and one of the largest Gay Pride and visited in the world.
It's very important day for us because the homosexual visibility is always necessary even these days.

"Saint Isidro's Day"

Saint Isidro's Day is on 15th May, it's a the most important celebration in Madrid. Over week, there're many activities: a Fair, shwos in the open air, exhibitions, contests, children's games,... All banks close at 13:00h and other state office too. Most people work in that week, but, nobody works in Saint Isidro's Day.
It's a very busi Day, in the morning, I go to the picnic with my family and my friends in Saint Isidro's weadow, it's near Saint Isidro's small Church. It's a tradition to dress with typical dress from Madrid, as we don't have it, we only put on some objets, women wear a headscarf, a carnation and shawl, and men wear a scarf and a cap. We go for a walk in Saint Isidro's Fair and we go to drink Saint's Fountain's water (It's drinking water).
In the evening, my husband and me go to of bullfight and at night we go to restaurant and a disco with our friends. We get home at three or four o'clock.

SPANISH CONSTITUTION'S DAY

This day is in 6th December. It's a day off in Spain. It's a special day for me, because I think how my life is now with the Constituion and I remenber how my life was in other times, when still didn't have it. I'm now fifty-four years old.
I work on this day in my Secondary Schooll. I read out some chapters with my students and we comment about them.
The people make the Constituion's reading in many places and in the Parliament too. On this day, there're public visits in the Parliament; there's a big state celebration, what the most important people of the State attend.

SPECIAL DAY
The best day of my life.
All days are the best days of my life, since I wake up to go to bed.
Each day is very special to me.
Today , for exemple, when I wolle up I realized it was Thursday, January, 2011.
Is a great day, the same as yesterday and tomorrow but also different. I think this is more than enough to celebrate.
Today I celebrate the wonderful life
I´ve had and when the day is done I put my head on the pillow and I sleep like a happy child, knowing that tomorrow will again be the best day of my life.

MY FAVORITE SPECIAL DAY

My favorite special day is the Mother´s Day. This is celebrated on the first Sunday of May.
Mothers give their lifes to look after their families. They give us a lot of their time.
This is a very important day, I think. It is a day to remember the important things that our mothers do for us. They are the most important persons in the families.
What I don´t like about this day is that it´s a day in which shops earn a lot of money. For them this day is only business.
In my family we stay at home. My mother doesn´t do the housework, she doesn´t cook, she doesn´t do the washing-up… she does nothing, we do everything.
In the morning she wakes up later than usual, She has a relaxing day. We give her handcraft presents. Her grandchildren paint and sing for her.
We love her.

San Roque's Day. This day is on August 16th. It's the great holiday in my parent's village, Villablino, León, but this event is also a very important holiday in Spain. I never work on this day because I'm on holiday.
On San Roque's Day my family and me don't go to the fair, we go on a suv to an hut at the top of the mountain. There we have lunch together. My aunt Amparo makes a paella, and the others buy the cakes and do the dishes. In the afternoon the older women either do needleworks or read the newspapers. On the other hand the younger us walk to the river. It's very nice to have a long wald on a summer's day. At the end of the day some come home on the suv and others on foot. I love it.

THE THREE WISE MEN DAY.

My composition is about January 5th. It’s The Three Wise Men day.

We have this festival day in Spain, but in USA or Britain they don’t have this day, they celebrate something similar on Christmas Day.

On January 5th it’s a very special day for me, because it’s my son’s birthday too; my son’s name is Pablo and he’s six years old.

In the morning on January 5th, I get up very early, I go to wake up my son and I sing him: “Happy Birthday to you”.

In the afternoon, we go to Cibeles Square, and we see The Epiphany Parade of The Three Wise Men.

At half past eight, we go back home and we have a nice dinner with the family; when we finish dinner, Pablo opens his presents and he plays with new toys.

Then all people in my family eat cake and we sing to Pablo “Happy Birthday to you” and everybody goes back home.

It’s the moment when my husband, my son and I cook a small dinner for The Three Wise Men and their camels, because we know that they have a lot of present for us; so we go very fast to the bed, because we wake up very early in the next morning.
